Everyone keeps talking about putting bone & chest into their hogs, but few have been able to do it. We took a little different approach on our foundation female pool. We had a lot of York influence with a touch of black exotic in our original sow base. We purchased a Chester boar in Duncan that we called "Albino Rhino" and bred the farm to him. Albino Rhino was one of the biggest boned, biggest bladed & biggest footed boars we've ever come across. By adding a shot of Chester into our sow base we were able to get that monster bone & wide chests into our pigs. So, if you see "Albino Rhino" in some of our gilts' pedigrees you'll know that they have a shot of Chester which means more bone, more body, more rib, more milk & more fertile!

I want to thank you all for your interest in the genetics I am offering this weekend. Many people have questioned why I am dispersing this set of show steer cows, and the answer is simple. My wife works full time and we are both constantly on the road. We need the time to raise our kids, so we thought the best solution was to take a few years to enjoy them “while they are little”. This is a real nice set of cows and they would not be in my pasture if they didn’t work and pay the bills.

The offering of females is comprised of several cow families. The strongest is a set of daughters out of the elite 9032 dam. This Meatloaf x Angus cow was a prime donor in my show steer program for years, and produced 12 of the females that will sell. The 9032 x Heatwave daughters are thick, big-boned cows that have great feet and legs. Whether you are chasing the hot Charolais trend or you want to raise Angus winners, this cow family can do it.

I flushed the first 9032 x Heatwave daughter as a heifer, and she produced three eggs with two resulting in pregnancies. The two steer calves sold for $6,000 and $5,000, and one of them won Class 5 in Fort Worth. A year later, I flushed the same cow and got nine eggs, six of which resulted in pregnancies. These offspring grossed $51,250. Individually, the steers sold for $18,000, $16,500, $5,250, $5,000, $3,500, and the heifer brought $3,000. I pulled another one of the 9032 x Heatwave daughters up and flushed her, and her calves sold for $8,000, $6,000, and $3,500. The cow power is here if you want to take advantage of it. It doesn’t matter which one you get because they will all produce.

The depth of quality in this cow herd is evidenced by the track record. Last year, I sold 16 steers and 11 of them made the sale at the majors. Five of those were in Fort Worth. This unique set of females offers exciting breeding opportunities, and we know you will be pleased with the offspring that will follow.

Thank you again for your interest.

Thank you for viewing this first collection of the Southern Exchange Sale. I would like to take the time to thank everyone for the interest that we have had in viewing these females at our ranch and the online inquiries we have had. Our goal is to provide slick sheer built females that genetically are total outcrosses to other pedigrees so that you will have many options when mating these females to the proper sires. An additional emphasis we have is that our genetics will be very maternal when raising a calf. If any of you guys have ever raised cattle in central Texas you know that we are at a major disadvantage in terms of weather with heat and humidity, as well as our forage selections. Therefore, these females will be very hearty in terms of adaptability to other regions and in becoming a good mother at your ranch. We plan to continue our herd strongly and plan to accelerate our genetics into your programs and will offer you a strategic plan in helping you mate back these females with hopes of merchandising offspring. We hope the rainfall has been as generous to you guys as it has been to us this summer and hope that you find the females as selective as we do.
Enjoy this selection of females and thanks for the interest!
Sincerely,
Jacob Tusa, Tusa Show Cattle

We want to start out by thanking each and every one of you for viewing our first ever online production sale. As most of you know there have been countless hours spent, miles driven, and money spent to assemble the genetic base that all these bulls and females derive from. When we first set out in this business, our goal was to find the absolute best cows in the nation, put them into our production program, and find the best sires we could find to mate them to. Some of the sires that have jump started our bull battery include Troubadour, Hagrid, Waylon, Hooter, Titan, In Control, Hoo Doo Squared.

As we began to ponder on the idea of having a production sale to share our genetics with everyone, we weren’t sure at first how to go about it. After much thought and advice from several influential breeders, we decided to offer you the entire Bird Cattle Company replacement heifer offering. That is correct: the ENTIRE keeper pen is for sale in front of you right now. Spring born, fall born, and herd sires are all here. Some question why we decided to do this, but the explanation is simple: we want everyone to have to opportunity to inject some of the nation’s leading genetics into their own cow herds just as we have done ours. We are sure as you scroll through the pedigree list, many of you will recognize most of the sire and dams of these cattle.

There are a few sale notes we want to make sure have been brought to your attention. First, we reserve the right to one flush on every female lot in the sale at buyer’s convenience. Second, lot 100 or “Swagger” as we like to call him, we will be offering ½ interest with negotiable possession. Lots 1, 2, and 57 will be choice lots; meaning we will be bidding off buyer’s choice between the pair of females, then we, Bird Cattle Company will retain the other within our program. Also, any female that has a purebred status or can be registered as a Chi, Mainetainer, Charolais, or Hereford, papers can and will be issued upon buyer’s request. In addition, there are several lots of spring born heifers. None of these are bred. They are all open and ready to be flushed or bred upon purchase. If there are any additional terms on any lots they will be outlined in the individual’s description. Please feel free to contact any of us with questions.

We are offering over 100 lots of heifer and bull prospects, embryo’s, flush’s and semen. We have two very exciting up coming herd sires. About 70 head of our top end replacement heifers, of which there are several different types, kinds, and matings, so we hope you can find something that interests you! We tried to put forth something to fit everyone! Finally we conclude the sale with a couple flushes and some embryo packages out of our top end donors. Then we are offering 150 units of semen on Hooter, our full brother to the 2008 Grand Champion steer at the San Antonio Stock Show. We hope that each and every one of you can find something to spark your interest!

We obviously couldn’t do this without the help of many. I want to thank each and everybody who helped out: Trae Simmons, Jay Carr, Ky Stierwalt, Eric Drager, Casey Hilmes, Joe Yzaguirre, Simon Trinidad, the crew at Breeders World Katie Johnson and Travis Stenberg. I also want to thank all the breeders who helped build our genetic base. Finally, I want to extend a big thank you to my family: my wife Lindsay, my two beautiful daughters Berkley and London, my mother Cindy, and my grandparents Jimmy and Ada Lou Bird. As we proceed into our first sale, we hope that the cattle we present will go onto to their new destinations and work for you just like they have worked for us! We sincerely thank you for your time and interest in our offering. If there is anything we can do for anybody, please let us know!

T_10018 Savage Club Lambs Online Ewe Sale

I am excited to offer this tremendous set of ewes for this sale! Anyone who knows me, saw me go through a painstaking process the past few months, trying to come up with which ewes to sell. None of the ewes offered, are considered culls. As a single mom, I simply could not lamb out 150 head! All ewes are healthy and sound unless otherwise stated in their comments. My genetics are littered with famous rams such as Caesar, Mirage, Protocol, Trademark, and now one of the hottest 2 year olds in the country, Money! The aged ewes earned their place in my flock by continually producing champions and/or replacement females. I decided to put yearlings as well as ewe lambs in the sale to give you the unique opportunity to own, what I like to call, a "matriarch" ewe. A ewe, that over time, will improve and make a significant impact on an entire flock. These youngsters are bred right and are markedly better than the ewes I started with, just 6 years ago! Through careful selection, a nagging desire to win, and with the help of my mentor/father, I feel I have something to offer other breeders. Please feel free to call me with any questions you may have. Delivery available to the National Southdown Show in Lubbock, TX the 2nd week in July.

Welcome to our first annual Online Spring Sale. I’m sure you will find the quality runs deep in this offering. There are two Bull Prospects that are second to none. They are both out of super females with proven pedigrees behind them. The steers in the offering are sound, stylish, and will go on to be successful no matter what level you want them to compete in. I’m sure you will find the heifer offering to be solid. They are all backed by sound, easy doing cows that milk. I wish I could have had time to get all the mothers pictured of these heifers but rest assured you can buy with confidence that these heifers will show and then be able to go on and be profitable matrons for your herd.

To our American friends, the border crossing is no longer an issue. I have taken cattle to the U.S. twice within the last year and the procedure is relatively simple. Ty-D Cattle will get all U.S. purchases into Central South Dakota at our cost. It is just a short 7 ½ hour drive to the Highmore/Ree Heights area so it is no trouble at all. So it will be just like purchasing cattle in the U.S. It will be up to the purchaser to get transportation from there. All cattle must be gone from Ty-D Cattle by September 15, 2010 – or earlier at buyers request. We would ask that any purchases that are U.S. bound give us 30 days notice to the desired delivery date as to allow for adequate time to get the health papers in order.

In closing, on behalf of my family, I would like to thank Brad Hanewich of breedersworldonlinesales.com for his advice and guidance through this new experience. Also thank you to all of those who have taken the time to view and have interest in our cattle. I look forward to your calls.
Sincerely,
Tyson Rasmuson

We would like to thank everyone for taking the time to attend our 1st Miller Hampshires Online Production Sale. This set of females is the strongest group we have ever sorted through. We felt that we should give everyone an equal chance to own these potential foundation females. They are sired by some of the most influential bucks in the industry, including “Masterpiece”, “Master Copy”, “Untouchable”, “Flex”, “40 Large”, O-515, “Reflex”, “Miller Master”, and “Vintage”. The intensive line breeding program started in the early 70’s, is producing a consistency that can be seen in this set of sound females. We try to let the livestock speak for itself, you will not see a photoshoped picture or fictional story anywhere our name is used, so feel confident that the ewes will be more impressive in person and production, then in picture. We can arrange rides to anywhere in the country, but offer delivery to the National Southdown Show and Sale in Lubbock, Texas, and the Mid West Stud Ram Sale in Sedalia, MO. If you have any questions please feel free to call Jim at 806-487-6891, Dustin at 806-535-7400, Derick at 806-239-3670, or email us at millerhampshires@hotmail.com.
