25702 SOUTHERNER .41 RIMFIRE CALIBER DERINGER CIRCA 1870’S. ($550)

SOUTHERNER .41 RIMFIRE CALIBER DERINGER CIRCA 1870’S. Single shot,. Octagon 2 ˝” barrel. Manufactured by Brown Manufacturing Company, Newburyport, Mass. and stamped on the left side of barrel accordingly and with the patent date “APRIL 9, 1869”. Serial numbers matching in the 3,xxx range with only 7,000 manufactured in total of this brass frame variation. Top of barrel stamped in large letters “SOUTHERNER”. Very fine and all original with about 50-60% barrel blue. 95% dark, mellow brass patina. Working order with exception of extractor which is missing. Fine bore with crisp rifling. Factory rosewood grips in fine original condition. Very hard to find.
