Comments: This 87 lb BW bull calf has so much consistency bred into him it's scary! His sire, Scaredy Cat, was purchased from Chad Foreman and raised by Greg Kroupa. Scaredy Cat's calf crop last year had 21 out of 25 sold for a show calf at an average of $2175. Lot 2's Dam is a no miss cow. She has had 8 calves out of 5 different bulls and has never missed. She has 2 daughters working in our herd, 1 daughter working for SW Cattle in Alberta. She had a Dr. Who steer that was Reserve Champion Prospect Steer at Canadian Western Agribition in 2006. Her 2008 Golden Child was our high selling steer at Agribition 2008, and a full brother to Lot 2 in 2009 was Reserve Champion Percentage Maine Bull at Agribition as selected by judge Cory Thomsen. That calf was sold in the stall for $5000 just hours after he entered the barn. NBH 288L has a proven pedigree backed by many donors in the Maine breed. She is sired by Direct Deposit and the dam is Energizer's maternal sister. 288L was Grand Champion Maine female at the 2002 NILE in Billings, Montana. Comments: This super cool smoke brings a lot to the table! He will be able to compete with the best Char influenced calves around. He is a little green as he is out of a first calver, but all the tools are there to be a great one down the road. He is sired by a purebred Charolais bull called SIlver Buckle. Buckle was raised by Wilgenbusch Charolais, just up the road from here. He is without a doubt one of the best Char bulls I have ever seen. He was sold in the Wilgenbusch Charolais bull sale in 2009 where he blew the roof off the barn bringing $45,000 for 3/4 interest. Later in the same sale Buckle had 17 paternal brothers that averaged $7200. Silver Buckle's full brother in the Wilgenbusch 2010 sale brought $32,000 for 3/4 interest. It is easy to see how Lot 3 will turn out when you see these results, mixed with the fact the mother is a Full Steam (Full Flush x Covino III son / Angus / Galloway) and out of the great 541 cow, the dam to Lot 4.
