Kelln Livestock Online Buck Sale - April 15th, 2019 Ends at 7:00 p.m. CST

Item Description
A.

We are proud of the job that our bucks continue to do for other breeders. Bucks that we have sold have sired banner hangers at state fairs and national shows. 2018 brought several more state fair champions sired by bucks that we have sold in previous online sales. We have sold bucks from coast to coast. They are working in small herds and in some of the brand name herds that dominate the show rings. All of these bucks have added-value already built into them. They are grown out and ready to go to work. There is no guess work. They come with built in advertising and already have a picture to help you market your goats out of them. High quality set of bucks. There are goats to fit every program and budget. Please give me a call or make the journey to Fargo, OK to see for yourself. Thank you. Have a good day and a better tomorrow.

Comments:I made the comment in March 2018 that this guy would be lot 1 in this sale. He has not disappointed. Can’t miss prospect. You can’t poke many holes in this dude. We’ve made our share of bucks that have gone on to sire state fair and major champions. This one ranks near or at the top of what we have produced. Excellent hip and tail setting, King cobra necked, rib and rack—you bet!  Deep twisted, big ended, correct bone and structure and a MASSIVE, MASSIVE loin. This dude will add size and grow to them as well. Takes a long stride.   He reminds me of so many good goats that I used to look at west of Mason, TX.  In fact, he has FreakOnALeash on both sides of his pedigree.  It is hard to make cool-made, good big goats.  This dude fits the bill.   I could get long-winded about this one. I’ll keep it simple. He’s good.

Comments:I’ve always tried to be as honest as possible when describing our bucks. If one over-photoed, I told you so. Likewise, this one is better in person. I like this guy a lot. Numerous wether jocks tried to get me to band him last summer. He was too good for a wether. Although, Duke probably wishes that he could have shown him. Excellent chest floor, round rib, big loin, wide stifle2stifle, enough bone, square to the ground and tight hided. Balance. He is moderate plus in frame and length. He looked good as a baby and he looks good now that he is ready to breed some does. Call me about this one. Simply put, this one is dang good livestock. My kind.

Comments:It was terribly windy on photo day. It was a day not fit for man nor beast. But I had help and time. What we didn’t have was lots of hair. These bucks had shucked most of their hair--bad for the seller but better for the buyer. Nothing to hide here. This guy was a cool chunky dude when he was little. Now he is grown up and is still a cool chunky dude. I only kept a handful of mature does last year and his momma was at the top of the list. This one will add body, some bone, some look, rib, rack, loin, hip and twist. Personally, I think that it is an added-value when Rainman and Harley are in the pedigree. They seem to produce for years. Heck, Rainman is still going and he is an ’09 model. Lumpy has an abcess (it isn’t CL) on the side of his jaw. It is draining and getting smaller. It hasn’t kept him from eating or humping his pen mates.

Comments:Much like the NFL draft, not all great ones have to be lot 1. Ask Troy Goretska. He bought TruthBeTold as a mid sale pick--sight unseen—just an honest scouting report. As for the scoop on tag 1823, I don’t get hung up on the shaggy legs that are so important to our current industry. However, this dude has natural bone and shag. He is correct in his balance and structure. Sir Mix-A-Lot could handle this one’s loin and announce “Baby’s got back. And Butt. And Bone. “ He was tight hided and then he went to rutting. Some of you all had the same problem. His twin brother was 2nd in class at the State Fair of OK. Might want to call me about the productivity of this one’s momma. He is moderate in frame and length. Sound structured, good ribbed, square racked, deep twisted with no real issues to breed around. Simply put, get the best player for the pick. If this one fits your budget, you will not go wrong.

Comments:This dude is out of Kester’s RECON buck. Recon is a Hired Gun X Garrett’s Z. This is a bit different genetic package but he has a lot of good. I love his chest floor and fore-arm. He has an elevated head and neck that ties into his shoulder properly. He transitions into a big ribcage. Bone is plenty good. Hide is good. He is square and true on all 4 corners. His lines are good. Then you handle him—DANG that is a big, square rack. Center loin is excellent. He could be a bit fuller at his hip/loin juncture. Hip and tail set are good. He looks good on the move. He looks good propped up. I like this dude. He intrigues me.

Comments:This is the twin brother to lot 2. He is the taller, longer, bigger boned of the pair. If I was smart (IF?) I would have had this dude out of general population, on his own special diet and with extra hair care. If this guy was fat and fluffy…oh the dollars that could be gathered. But, not here at Kelln Livestock. He is what he is. Lot of positives—phenotypically and dang sure, genotypically.

Comments:Trust me, I understand the value of hair when it comes to taking a good picture. But we obviously didn’t spend a lot of time prepping that all important trait. We didn’t even get all the sheds out of this one. Or his skin hydrated. This paint has impeccable lines and lots of growth. He is hard muscled, big footed and excellent hipped. His mother was a dang good one. She raised several bucks as well as several banner hanging doe kids. Excellent maternal traits come with this painted package.

Comments:What happens when a nursing doe dies at Kelln Livestock? You send the surviving kid 20 miles down the road to Amy & Carli and forget about him. Thus the reason that he still has horns. My fault. This dude is all natural, kind of hairy and obviously horny—kind of like some actors from the 70s. Clean chested, good bodied, plenty of bone and butt. He handles with a square rack and a full loin. Not as good as some but better than most.
